Man forced out of moving vehicle
Polokwane – Limpopo police have launched a manhunt for suspects who hijacked a VW Golf 3 along Nelson Mandela drive just outside Polokwane on Monday 6 July.
The suspects tricked the 30-year old owner of the car by posing as potential buyers responding to an advert that had been posted on social media.
“The suspect arrived with his alleged brother and they requested to inspect the vehicle and later asked to test drive it,” police spokesperson colonel Moatshe Ngoepe said. While the vehicle was in motion, one of the suspects produced a firearm and demanded the victim's cellphone. The victim was then forced from the moving vehicle before the suspects sped off.
Members of the community are cautioned to be alert whenever they use social media to sell items.
“Police are appealing to Dumisani Mashele to assist with investigations by availing himself at Seshego Police Station or any other police station,” Moatshe said. The registration number of the VW Golf 3 is DZG 357L.
