Rhinos focus on Volcano Cup

Rustenburg – The Northam Platinum Rhinos rugby team is determined to bounce back from their semi-final loss in the Gold Cup and are already preparing for the Vodacom Super League, which will start on Saturday 27 April. 

The Rhinos were eliminated from the 2019 Gold Cup on Saturday 6 April when they lost to Newrak Impala Rustenburg by 36-20. 

In an interview with Platinum Bushvelder, Rhinos coach Flip de Kock said there are a lot of positive aspects to the defeat, which he will use to build the team going forward.  

“We will not be hard on ourselves because we finished third in the Gold Cup. This is an improvement from our eighth position last year,” he said. 

“Our left winger Viehan Koen played very well against Impala and I am confident that as a team we will do well in the Volcano Cup.”  

There is no time to rest for Flip and his charges, who are already training hard for the Volcano Cup.
