Platina Primary drum majorettes – back in action!

Northam – The Platina Primary School drum majorettes are a familiar face. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, they had to take a break from participating in competitions in 2018.

But... they’re back!
The team of 16 girls, ranging from grade one to seven and their two trainers, are even more determined than ever after participating in the National Championships that took place in KwaZulu-Natal in 2017. 

They have already participated in their first competition this year on Saturday 6 April in Mokopane, where they obtained two third places. Their next competition will be held on 11 May at Tom Naudé School in Polokwane. 

With the National Championships that will take place in the June-holiday in East-London, the girls have been busy trying to raise funds. Their first fundraising project was by means of a raffle. They would like to thank the following community members for the sponsoring of the prizes in the raffle (in no particular order):

The Platina Primary School drum majorettes are still in need to raise funds towards nationals in terms of the following:

 

• Airplane tickets to East London.
• Accommodation in East London.
• Transportation during their stay in East London. 
• Backpacks.
• Team shirts. 
• Meals.
