A slow voting day at Northam and Swartklip

Northam/ Swartklip – As the country gathered to vote in the national and provincial elections on 8 May, voting stations in Northam and Swartklip were quiet. 

“At some stations at times, there were only about 30 people in the queue,” a voter noted.

“Despite the parties’ desperate attempts to campaign until the very end, the call to vote fell on deaf ears.”

In Swartklip, the voting station also did not see many voters during the day. This however had no effect on the party representatives that were standing ready to assist with any questions.
