RECYCLING AND SEWING DAY at Thabazimbi Feed the Poor

Thabazimbi – Thabazimbi Feed the Poor hosted PACKA-CHING Recycling Group who came to the centre on 4 July to educate the youth about recycling. 

The lads at the centre collected cans, bottles, papers, glass pieces, plastic and other items that can be recycled. By midday, they collected about 150kg of waste.

All the while the girls were taught to sew - for most of them, holding a needle and thread in their hands was a first. Alida van Wyk, Lucia Blichnaut, Tandile Makgwau and Moira van Wyk taught and helped the girls to create  beautiful shoulder bags.
