HELPING HANDS HONOUR MADIBA

Amandelbult - People from all over Amandelbult Complex’s operations joined campaigns in host communities on 18 July 2019, commemorating the 101st birthday of the late Nelson Mandela.


A host of helping hands changed the world for the better this past Nelson Mandela International Day. All over Amandelbult Complex, people put their 67 minutes – one minute for each year of Nelson Mandela’s public service – to good use.


Children’s clothes, shoes, toys and books flooded in for the learners of Thabang Children’s Project, thanks to a collaboration between Amandelbult Complex employees, community members and the Rotary Club.


The quality time that the women in mining (WIM) representatives of Amandelbult production services (APS) and non-production services (NPS) spent with the residents of Bokamoso Old Age Home in Sandfontein did wonders. They washed blankets and cooked for the elderly. 


Twelve learners from Hoërskool Frikkie Meyer, Manamakgotha Secondary School and Mabogopedi High School had fun and learnt a lot on a tour through the plant organised by the Amandelbult Concentrator team.

“It’s a privilege to honour Madiba’s pro-educational legacy.

We thank the Thabang Children’s Project marimba band for their warm welcome,” said Amandelbult Complex mineral resource manager Vinodh Sewpersad.
