Lions poisoned and mutilated

Brits – On Thursday 12 September, lion poachers struck again in the Assen area near Brits.
Five lions - two large males, a female and two cubs - were poisoned at a lodge.

The heads of the two male lions were taken and the one’s paws removed.

In an interview with Platinum Weekly, Crocodile Community Protection Group (CCPG) chairperson Chris Degenaar said: “Poaching is a crisis and the market is only getting bigger. I urge game farmers to be extra vigilant and tighten their security.”
