TLM appoints director of community services

Thabazimbi – The Thabazimbi Local Municipality (TLM) appointed Sigale Pilane as the new director of community services on Friday 1 November.

Sigale was the manager of planning and economic development at the TLM a few years ago before moving to the private sector. The community services directorship has been vacant since 7 November 2014 when the municipality’s contract with Grace Rasesepa ended. Managers have been acting in this position until this appointment.

TLM speaker, councillor Thane Hearne, said Sigale has experience in local government and has held senior positions within the municipality previously. She appealed to all staff members to work with him and wished him well in his new position.

This directorate provides a range of services, including but not limited to waste removal and law enforcement to libraries and sports facilities. The municipality welcomes Sigale’s knowledge and experience across the different aspects of this job as well as his proven leadership skills and exceptional insight into community issues and needs.

Sigale said his commitment to excellence and effective service delivery will be a priority. “I will do an organisational analysis of the directorate as I commence my new position and will develop a strategic service delivery plan that will work towards improved service delivery and efficiency,” he added.
