Man accused of sexually  assaulting 15 boys 

Brits – On Monday 11 November, a 55-year old man appeared before the Brits Magistrates’ Court to answer to 15 counts of sexual assault. 

The man was arrested in Bethanie near Brits on Friday 8 November after one of the boys he had assaulted made a report to community policing forum (CPF) authorities during a school safety session. 

Investigations later revealed the man had allegedly sexually assaulted young boys with ages ranging from 7 to 11 years. 

Police spokesperson brigadier Sabata Mokgwabone said: “It is alleged that as part of committing these hideous acts, the accused lured the victims to his place and offered them money.”

The suspect is due to make his second court appearance on Wednesday 20 November. Police are still carrying out further investigations.

Lieutenant general Baile Motswenyane, the provincial police commissioner for North West, condemned the incident. She also thanked the CPF members for exposing and apprehending
