RAISING AWARENESS

Northam – Community members flocked to the streets of Northam on Wednesday 4 December to raise awareness and march for the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children. 

Khulisa Social Solutions and Dikuno Tsa Sechaba Community Development Trust spearheaded the march that started at the Northam four-way stop and ended at Krause Primary School.

During the march Khulisa’s members engaged with the community and handed out flyers to urge everyone to get involved.  Despite the rainy weather, the community showed support by joining in.

Lesley Ann Vine started Khulisa Social Solutions in 1997. Today, Khulisa operates throughout South Africa to address social vulnerabilities and inequalities by providing support and developmental know-how, through key partnerships for initiatives at a community level.

They aim to inspire, empower and enable vulnerable children, youth and the community at large.
