30 arrested for various offences

Thabazimbi – At least 30 suspects were arrested by the police from Friday 4 to Sunday 6 September as efforts to root out crime in Thabazimbi yielded significant success.

Police spokesperson Titus Khumalo revealed that a total of 14 suspects were apprehended for illegal gambling while nine found themselves behind bars for liquor-related offences. “Four suspects were arrested for driving offences in contravention of the National Traffic Act,” Khumalo added.

One of the other suspects was nabbed after being found in possession of housebreaking instruments. Another was apprehended for driving under the influence of liquor or drugs.
