Thank you! Caring staff at Thabazimbi Mediclinic [Letter to the editor]

Thabazimbi – I was rushed to hospital from Leeupoort Vakansiedorp on Friday 23 October with a total third-degree heart block.

My condition was severely critical, and I needed to be resuscitated five times by the Thabazimbi Mediclinic staff. My doctor, Dr de Kock never left my side and Dr Groenewald played a vital role in my care.

The nursing staff were outstanding! The loving care and reassurance given by all of them 24/7 made such a difference.

I was transferred to a hospital in Pretoria by helicopter whilst still in an unstable condition. As a registered nurse, I felt compelled to share this life-saving experience with the utmost gratitude. It may be a small hospital in the ‘platteland' but the doctors and nursing staff were excellent.
