Rustenburg, drugs and gun bust

Rustenburg – The Rustenburg Police successfully busted two alleged drug dealers and a person for the possession of an unlicensed firearm.

“The Police’s cluster crime combating unit (CCU) arrested two suspects in the Bokamoso informal settlement near Bleskop,” says sergeant Ofentse Mokgadi, police spokesperson. A 28-year old man was arrested for selling small bags filled with dagga (“bankies”), and a 32-year old woman, who was found in the possession of 13kg worth of dagga at her house.

The Police followed the information trail, which led them to Mfidikoe village where they arrested a 33-year old Ethiopian national shopkeeper for the possession of an unlicensed firearm and four live rounds.

The suspects appeared before the Rustenburg Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 17 November. The Rustenburg cluster commander general Arthur Adams commended the Police members for their swift reaction.
