Manhunt for escaped prisoner  

Lephalale – A 31-year-old man escaped from the Lephalale Magistrates’ Court holding cells on Monday 24 November. The incident is being investigated.  The police have since launched a manhunt for Tawanda Trust, who escaped moments after he had appeared in court on a charge of theft.

He was due to appear again in the same court on 24 November and police are requesting the public to come forward with information about his whereabouts. “The escapee was also arrested for house robbery, escaping from lawful custody, possession of suspected stolen property as well as burglary,” police spokesperson colonel Moatshe Ngoepe said.
