Thabazimbi – Notorious for its plot twists, epic cliff-hangers and award-winning actors, Lockdown takes viewers into the daily battle for survival in the cells and offices of Thabazimbi Women’s Correctional Facility.

However, according to a reliable source… Thabazimbi doesn’t have a women’s correctional facility and no scenes are shot in Thabazimbi. The prison scenes are shot at Constitution Hill in Johannesburg which has a rich history and buildings that are over a century old. It is located at 11 Kotze Street in Braamfontein, Johannesburg near the western end of the suburb of Hillbrow.
