Drugs found stashed in ceiling  

Limpopo – A person from Solomondale in the Capricorn District of Limpopo was arrested on Sunday 3 January 2021 after police caught him with R25,000 worth of illegal drugs stashed in a ceiling. The police were on a routine patrol when they received information about the whereabouts of a suspected drug dealer with a huge stash.  
After searching the house where the 25-year-old suspect resides, the police discovered plastic bags of drugs concealed inside the ceiling. The 14 crystal meth, 90 sachets of nyaope, 16 sachets of dagga as well as 190 wrapped packets of dagga were all seized by the police. 
The police’s anti-crime operation, concluded on Sunday 10 January, netted the arrest of 1,163 suspects for various offences ranging from murder, attempted murder, robbery, rape, sexual assault, common robbery, robbery with weapon other than firearm, sexual offences to public drinking and illegal dealing in liquor.
In separate raids, police also managed to seize 4,681 cartons of counterfeit cigarettes, eight dangerous weapons, 1,087 grams of dagga, dagga plants, crystal meth, 40 grams of CAT, 83 grams of nyaope, five firearms, 26 knives, liquor as well as three stolen or robbed vehicles. They also issued a total of 1,422 summons to offenders.
