Investing in children – investing in the future

Northam – During a heartfelt ceremony hosted by Bishop Isaac Mokgope (BIM) School of Learning, six children from the Northam community received bursaries on Saturday 6 March. The bursaries were made possible by donations from the New Covenant Fellowship International congregation.

 “We are here today to stand together and show the Northam community that God cares about them and their children. We are grateful for the opportunity to help these six underprivileged youth by awarding them bursaries sponsored by the church and the school. It will give them the opportunity to learn in a conducive environment so that they have a chance on a better future, being assets to their communities,” said BIM School of Learning owner and of New Covenant Fellowship International bishop Isaac Mogale.

 BIM School of Learning principal Riaan Roux added: “Children are our future and a vital part of the community.” Magda Roux will also be providing after school tutoring, and the community is welcome to contact the school for more information regarding the subjects they offer.

Northam councillors David Gouveia and Tshegofatso Ramoabi, as well as Laerskool Platina Primary Principal Lottie van der Westhuizen also stepped up to assist. 
This is a new and exciting journey for the children who received the bursaries. The joy and enthusiasm could be seen on their faces. A great thank you to the sponsors and guardians of these children as well as Thabang Children’s Home for their assistance in creating a better future for the learners.
