Easter with our families

Thabazimbi – The reduced number of congregants allowed inside churches for Easter gatherings has not dampened the spirits of Christians. Many have decided to observe this important religious holiday by worshiping with their families in the comfort of their own homes.
  
According to the announcement made by President Cyril Ramaphosa ahead of the holidays, church gatherings may not exceed 250 people for indoor venues and 500 for outdoors. A venue too small to accommodate these numbers with appropriate social distancing is not allowed more than 50% of its capacity. 

While these regulations will affect the annual Zion Christian Church (ZCC) Easter gathering at Moria, some congregants already decided against travelling there.  
“I will be at home with my family and we will pray together. I will prepare something special to eat and we will sing songs and pray,” Thabazimbi local and ZCC member Anna Mashuhu, said in an interview with Platinum Bushvelder.
 
She underlined the importance of remembering the essence of celebrating Easter. “Jesus Christ died for our sins and rose again. He loved us enough to die for our sins, so we must praise him,” she said. Rachael Seomana, another member of the church, will also spend the holidays with her family. “To me, Easter is a time to thank the Lord for what he has done for us,” she said. “I will spend this time with my family. We will enjoy delicious food and pray. The threat of COVID-19 made me decide against travelling.”
