Cannot afford a place to stay [Letter to the editor] 

Has anyone noted the cost of affordable housing in Thabazimbi? There is an outcry from Thabazimbi’s residents on social media.
 
Do the landlords care? Like many others, I only earn R5,000 a month. I was looking for a one-bedroom place to rent – which is very scarce. I eventually found a one-bedroom apartment for R4,000 per month, with a deposit to match. That leaves me with R1,000 for food, petrol, and school supplies for my child.
 
I call on developers or people who have property available in Thabazimbi, to please make affordable housing available to people in my income group.
