WE WANT JOBS!

Thabazimbi – It all started on 26 February 2021… Almost a month later, a Platinum Bushvelder photographer was summoned to the scene where an angry mob gathered at an Eskom site entrance on the Thabazimbi-Northam road near Ben Alberts on 26 April.
 
Protesters parked their vehicles at the entrance, blocking access to the site, chanting their discontent with Eskom and Thabazimbi Local Municipality (TLM). One of the protesters told Platinum Bushvelder that the correct vacancy procedure was not followed. “We heard that TLM councillors appointed themselves on the projects team committee. That’s not right! It must be us on the committee! We have been coming here every day, standing at this gate, for longer than three weeks now, and we will not move.”

Platinum Bushvelder will keep an eye on the situation and we hope an amicable solution will be found between all stakeholders.
