Ambushed while tending to his sheep

Brits – A 43-year-old farmer, Pier Schutte, was shot while tending to his sheep at around 18:00 on Wednesday 5 May on his farm near Dikhololo, Brits. 

The farmer was busy at the sheepfold, about 800m from his home, when he was ambushed by an unknown number of perps. Police spokesperson colonel Adèle Myburgh confirmed that the man was shot twice – once in the chest and once in the back. 
Schutte managed to return fire, upon which the attackers fled. He sustained serious injuries and after being stabilised, was airlifted to a hospital in Johannesburg. 
This is the second attack this year on Schutte on his farm. It is unclear if anything has been stolen and no arrests have been made thus  far.
