Bullying in the home can entail physical violence, verbal abuse, or both. In a country struggling with issues such as gender-based violence, extreme poverty, serious violent crime, amongst many other tragic issues, the breeding ground for bullies at home is ripe.
A bully is imperious and dominating on a regular basis. He or she humiliates and intimidates others, especially if the target is smaller or weaker. Parents who bully can and do cause emotional and psychological harm to children.

Dealing with a parent bully can be difficult. It is a good idea to talk to an authority at school, or even with law enforcement.
Prevalence of bullying in schools
It’s reported that as many as 57% of South African learners have been bullied at some time during their high-school careers. When one considers that we have 2.2 million school-going children in this country, those percentages translate into truly staggering numbers.
Bullying and cyberbullying
Bullying is repeated and intentional threats, physical assaults, and intimidation by individuals or a group who exert their real or perceived difference in power or strength on another individual or group.
Bullying commonly occurs in schools and can be physical, verbal, social, or electronic aggression.
