A clean slate

Northam – Community members and business owners in town are elated, thanks to Siyanda Bakgatla Platinum Mine and Thabazimbi Local Municipality (TLM), who spearheaded a cleanup and facelift of the Northam Landfill Site. 

Access roads have now been created for disposing waste properly and landfill demarcations for household waste, garden waste, and rubble have brought order to the sorting process. “We urge our community members and businesses to dispose of waste accordingly, as directed, and not in the front or at the back of the site.

Working together we can do more,” TLM communications manager Joshua Motsomane said. TLM councilor David Gouveia urged community members and the business community to maintain order at the landfill by avoiding dumping waste at undesignated points.
