Not this time, says EFF

Claims of land grabs in Spitskop

Thabazimbi/ Spitskop – Social media was abuzz with claims of landgrabs in the Spitskop area on Friday 2 July.

According to several posts, the illegal landgrab was spearheaded by the Economic Freedom Fighter (EFF) political party. EFF Thabazimbi election head Patrick Monaheng confirmed that the incident was not instigated by the EFF:

“The EFF is not aware of any landgrab programme that took place at Spitskop on Friday; however, the EFF supports landgrab programmes across South Africa.”

Conflicting reports of what really happened are doing the rounds.
