A game for the history books! 

Northam – Northam Rhinos proudly lifted the Lucas Strachan Shield after claiming the top spot in the Carlton Cup’s first round on Saturday 21 August. It was a historic first for the Rhinos as it is their first time holding this victory shield. They managed to finish the first round with an impressive score of 77-8 over the Tuine Grizzlies. They now have their sights set firmly on the Carlton Cup. Scrumhalf and captain Patrick Hattingh scored three tries in a true captain’s innings with eighth-man Chaney Willemse, who also scored a hat-trick. Ashwill Adams and JT Cronjé scored a double, while Danie Loots and Gemashe also scored. Loots scored a total of 20 points, including a try, a penalty goal and six goal kicks.
