Dr. Marius Higgens, prophet, preacher and now writer

Swartklip – Dr. Marius Higgens, a former Swartklip local, visited his hometown for a moving sermon on Sunday 19 September.

His parents moved from Krugersdorp to Swartklip in 1972. In 1976 a prophet named David Griffith, led a service at Swartklip. Dr. Marius and his friend Rassie Erasmus entered the church at the exact moment the preacher asked who would like to give their heart to the Lord – and this was his first encounter with God. 

“As a young boy, there was a prophetic word over my life, and this was when the Lord started to prepare me to be in His service,” he said in an interview with Platinum Bushvelder.

He attended Rustenburg Hoër Tegniese Skool but he didn’t have a grade 12 certificate, so no Bible school wanted to accept him. That was until 1986 when he was accepted at the College for Advanced Christian Education. 

Several pastors helped him on his journey and later he started to preach temporary at his own ministry in Krugersdorp. In 2004, God said that he must go into ministry full time. 

Said Dr. Marius: “I started small, but later on preached all over the world – even in Singapore from the Global Missions International, where I became the director of South Africa Global Missions International.

We also serviced people in Indonesia until the Lord called me back to South Africa about five years ago.”

Dr. Marius and his wife are now situated in Krugersdorp and focus on restoring broken hearts through the power of the Lord. 

His book The Prophet’s DNA should reach the shelves shortly. It contains many testimonies, including how God turned the life of a Mafia boss around and the history of prophets and God’s work.
