Fire in Dwaalboom

Thabazimbi – It is suspected that the sparks from an electricity pole that fell caused a rapidly spreading fire in the Dwaalboom area on Saturday 16 October.

Thabazimbi Fire and Rescue responded and after fighting the fire all through the night, it was finally brough under control at around 07:30 the following morning.

The community is once again urged to not start any open fires as the heat and strong winds can lead to runaway fires that cause extreme damage.
