Rhinos go down fighting

SA – Northam Rhinos put up a brave effort in the 2021 Charlton Cup final but lost to Midas Naka Bulls with 25-35 at Loftus Versfeld on Saturday 30 October.

It was a very competitive match with both sides giving everything they had for the prestige and honour of winning the trophy. In the end, it was Midas Naka Bulls who emerged victorious, powering to a historic win for their club. 

However, Rhinos can hold their heads high and should be proud of reaching the final and playing well against a very difficult and talented team. 

Rhinos skipper Patrick Hattingh, who scored three tries, was one of the star players of his team. “We had a lot of chances but failed to use them effectively,” Hattingh said after the match. “It was a learning opportunity, and we are grateful that we managed to get this far. We are going to start building for next season.”
