Leakages at both Regorogile reservoirs

Thabazimbi/ Regorogile – There are two reservoirs in Regorogile; the newly built 10 million litre (10ML) reservoir (called the Regorogile 10ML Reservoir) and the second is called ‘the old Regorogile Reservoir’.

The new reservoir was built next to the existing reservoir, which was connected to the existing infrastructure.

On Tuesday 16 November, the Thabazimbi Local Municipality (TLM) issued a statement that unplanned water interruptions will take place due to “a severe leakage” at the Regorogile Reservoir. The statement also said: “no restoration time given”.

In an interview with Platinum Bushvelder on 18 November, TLM communications manager Joshua Motsomane confirmed:

“The main leakage at the old reservoir is now fixed. The team is finalising the small leak at the new reservoir today.”
