Local businessman arrested for rape

Thabazimbi – The Thabazimbi Community Policing Forum (CPF) responded to a cry for help at a local tuck shop on Wednesday 3 November.

Once they arrived, they secured the scene and handed it over to the Thabazimbi  Police.

According to police spokesperson constable Titus Khumalo, a case of rape was opened. The 30-year-old man from Pakistan was arrested on 12 November for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl at his shop located near a primary school in Thabazimbi.

He appeared before the court on 15 November and the case was postponed to  22 November for a formal bail application where an Urdu interpreter can be present.

The docket was allocated to the Family and Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit.
The Police extended their gratitude to the Thabazimbi CPF for their swift response in securing the scene.
