Northam – Two pedestrians were hit by motorists in two separate instances at the four-way stop in Northam on Thursday 18 November.

Luckily, they only sustained minor injuries. This crossing is a nightmare for commuters. Traffic jams often cause motorists to become inpatient, leading to accidents.

“I have to travel from Thabazimbi to Northam and back every day. The people don’t care if it’s their turn to drive or not. They just go.

All the cars drive at once and the taxis cut in all the time. I urge the local authorities to please make a plan with this crossing,” an eyewitness pleaded.
