Simbahle aiming for the crown

Northam/ Amandelbult – Simbahle Joseph, a local beauty residing in Amandelbult, was chosen as a finalist for the Miss Teen Universe South Africa pageant that will take place on 13 March 2023.

At the young age of 17, she is already actively involved in changing her community for the better. As part of the requirements for the pageant and showing that she is worthy of the crown, she has to complete several charity projects. 

Simbahle paid a visit to a local preschool to donate toys and motivate the youngsters. She also hosted a Spring Day event at Timbila Climate where she was a guest speaker tasked to talk about her journey as a Miss Teen Universe to motivate her peers.

In August, she helped host a Body Positivity Drive and invited girls from her community to do a photoshoot. The idea behind this initiative was to celebrate, uplift and inspire local girls.

Another project, dear to her heart, is reaching out to local youths to get them focused on their academic achievements. Gender-based violence is another pressing issue that her community faces. She believes that it is important to talk about these issues so that women know that they are not alone.

When Simbahle is not out inspiring others, she helps to serve food at her school. 
Her next project will be a visit to a nearby orphanage.

Says Simbahle: “There are many children in my community who do not have parents. They don’t always have someone to turn to so I would like to be there for them and encourage them.” 

In order to continue to make a positive change in her community, she needs the assistance of sponsors. These sponsorships will also assist her in gaining votes to land her a spot in the top 10.

“I am proud to be representing Limpopo and it would be an honour to bring the crown home,” Simbahle concluded.
