Tag your pet

Thabazimbi – The December holidays are around the corner and with many people going away on holiday, pets are at risk of straying.

The fireworks that come with all the celebrations also cause pets to flee out of fear.

This results in an increase in strays, and most of these strays usually end up at the Thabazimbi Animal Rescue (TAR). This influx puts a lot of strain on TAR as they only have a limited number of kennels to house the lost pets and limited funds to feed them.

TAR’s Tanya Stone would like to urge pet owners to please write their contact numbers clearly on pet collars.

She would also like to appeal to them to make sure that their pets are secure and ask whoever is looking after their pets, to immediately report it when a pet goes missing. “Please make sure you have a nice photo of your pet so that if it goes missing it can make it easier to identify,” added Tanya.
