Thaba Archers take Protea Colours

Thabazimbi – The Thabazimbi Archery Club is proud of the Protea achievement of its Field archers.

The following members had a 2-year journey to meet all the requirements to achieve Protea colours:

• Gary Bauer, Maya Broekhuizen
• Mathilda Broekhuizen
• Gert Snyman (Team Manager)
• HJ Swanepoel
• Chris Welgemoed

Protea colours were awarded at a special function held at Komma Nader guest house with archers from Cape town, Bloemfontein, Potchefstroom, and Gauteng attending.

Federation colours were awarded to archers who meet the requirements for Protea colours but who do not have opponents in the international competition.

This group of archers will represent South Africa at the African Regional Federation Archery Championships (AFRAC) held in Namibia from Friday 30 June - 2 July 2023. The Thabazimbi Archery club had a vision 8 years ago to aim to produce Protea archers.

Dedication, commitment, hosting of field competitions and individuals made this vision a reality. The last 5 years have seen Protea Archers rising to their full potential. Thank you Thabazimbi community for your support.
