Renewed vigilance

Thabazimbi - On Monday 2 October 2023, the Thabazimbi police station welcomed a trio of new leaders, infusing fresh energy and perspective into the precinct.

Lieutenant colonel Mbene Maluleka steps into the role of station commander, bringing with him a wealth of experience from his tenure as the station commissioner of Rooiberg SAPS. A strong advocate for community engagement, Maluleka underscores the imperative of collective efforts in crime prevention. “Alone, we cannot fight crime. Our strategy will be deeply rooted in collaboration with the community policing forum (CPF), rural safety, and community safety forums,” he affirmed.
In the realm of visible policing, captain Mohlolo Mashele takes the helm. The former acting visible policing commander of Northam SAPS is no stranger to the frontline of crime prevention. Mashele is committed to spearheading regular operations, a strategy aimed at not only curtailing crime but also fortifying the trust of the community. 

Captain Thandi Bvuma, formerly the detective commander of Rooiberg SAPS, assumes the role of detective commander at Thabazimbi. With a firm commitment to justice, Bvuma pledges thorough case investigations, ensuring that no stone is left unturned, and justice is served.

Communication officer sergeant Rodingwae Khumalo expressed a warm welcome to the new appointees, marking a new chapter of enhanced vigour and renewed dedication to public safety in Thabazimbi.

Together, this trio promises a police service anchored in community collaboration, operational excellence, and unyielding justice.
