WATERBERG DISTRICT FLYING SQUAD NABS SUSPECT IN WATER TANKER TRUCK THEFT CASE

Waterberg - The members of the Waterberg District Flying Squad apprehended a male suspect for the theft of a water tanker truck on Wednesday, 1st November 2023.

The police were conducting crime prevention duties when they received information regarding a white Tata truck that had been stolen in the Lephalale policing area and was reportedly on its way to Mokopane while traveling along the N11 public road.

The members swiftly responded and managed to spot the truck fitting the description, pulling it over. The driver was asked about the legal ownership of the truck, but he failed to provide a satisfactory response and was immediately apprehended on the spot for being in possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle.

“Johannes Lucas Msiza (39) appeared on 2nd November before the Mokopane Magistrates’ Court. His case was postponed to 9th November for further bail applications,” said police spokesperson brigadier Hlulani Mashaba.
