When calling an ambulance...

• Clearly state your name and mention that you are assisting at the scene of an incident.
• Provide your telephone number or a contact through which you can be reached in case emergency teams need to call back.
• Specify the exact location of the incident; include the road name and/or nearby landmarks. Providing an exact WhatsApp location is very helpful.
• Describe the type and severity of the emergency. For example, “Traffic accident, two cars, road obstructed, three people trapped,” etc.
• Mention the number, age, and gender of the victims. For example, “One man, early sixties, conscious, with breathing difficulty, or profuse blood loss,” etc.
• Inform about any hazards, such as gas, toxic substances, damaged power lines, or heavy fog or rain.
• Follow instructions, such as First Aid guidance, given by the control room operator or ambulance team on call.
