Family and couple emerge unscathed

Thabazimbi – In a startling incident that could have ended much differently, a major collision between a Toyota Hilux and a Ford Ranger occurred at the intersection of 8th Avenue and Frikkie Meyer Street in Thabazimbi on Wednesday afternoon, 14 February 2024.

Miraculously, the occupants of both vehicles, a woman and two children in the Ford Ranger and a man and woman in the Toyota Hilux, sustained only slight injuries despite the severity of the crash. Images from the scene show the Toyota Hilux in a devastating state after it rolled several times, highlighting the dramatic nature of the accident.

Emergency services, including Thabazimbi Fire and Rescue, Public Protection Services (PPS) Thabazimbi, Trauma Rescue, Thabazimbi Police, as well as the Thabazimbi Local Municipality’s fire department and traffic officials, swiftly responded to the scene. Their quick action and coordinated response played a crucial role in securing the area and providing immediate assistance.

All individuals involved were transported to a local hospital as a precautionary measure to assess their injuries.
