Thabazimbi – If you’ve ever dreamed of running through breathtaking wilderness with the Big 5 watching from the sidelines, the Powerade Marakele Marathon 2025 is calling your name!
Set for Saturday 1 March 2025, this one-of-a-kind marathon unfolds inside the Marakele National Park near Thabazimbi, offering runners an unforgettable race through the stunning foothills of the Waterberg Mountains.

Whether you’re a seasoned marathoner aiming for Comrades or Two Oceans qualification, a weekend warrior, or just in it for a fun family adventure, there’s a race for everyone! Choose from the 42.2 km, 21.1 km, 10 km, or join the 5 km fun run with exciting activities for all ages.

Beyond the thrill of the run, your participation supports a cause close to nature lovers’ hearts — conservation! Proceeds go to the SANParks Honorary Rangers, a dedicated group of volunteers committed to protecting our national parks.
