Do you think people are more stressed now than in the past?

With modern technology, fast-paced work environments, and financial pressures, stress levels seem to be rising. But was life truly easier in the past, or did people face different struggles? Share your thoughts — are we more stressed today, or just dealing with stress differently?
Life was simpler in the past, with fewer demands and a lower cost of living. Traditionally, men were expected to work and provide for their families, while education wasn’t a priority for everyone. However, times have changed dramatically. Today, independence and financial stability are key, making education more essential than ever. This shift has led to a highly competitive job market, where many qualified individuals struggle to find opportunities. As a result, mental health challenges have become increasingly prevalent across all age groups. Tshegofatso Molefe, Thabazimbi As a working mom, I navigate daily struggles from the moment I wake up until I go to bed. There’s always something to think about — getting the kids up, making breakfast, getting them dressed, ensuring they get to school safely. Then there’s homework, preparing meals, packing lunches, and making sure they’re well taken care of. On top of that, the constant worry about finances, bills, and school fees never goes away. I feel more stressed, but I don’t show it. Instead, I cope in my own way, choosing to push through rather than let stress define me. At the end of the day, my focus is on being the best mom I can be for my children. Amanda McDonald, Thabazimbi
