THABAZIMBI CHILD ASSAULT TRIAL POSTPONED AGAIN

Justice delayed,
but not denied

Thabazimbi – The long-running case against Ria Oberholzer, Petrus Oelofse, and Jessica Hull has once again been delayed, with the trial now set to continue on 15 April and 29 April 2025. The postponement comes as the court awaits critical testimony from a state witness, reinforcing the complexities surrounding the case.

This development follows a previous delay, where the trial was initially scheduled to commence on 13 and 18 February 2025 but was postponed due to concerns for the psychological wellbeing of the young victims preparing for their final examinations.

The accused are facing serious charges related to child assault and neglect. Oelofse is charged with sexual assault and child neglect, while Oberholzer and Hull are accused of child neglect and assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. The case, which has now spanned over a year and a half, has encountered multiple delays, further extending the emotional toll on the victims and their families.
