Rhinos crush Louis Trichardt 

Setaria – The Northam Platinum Rhinos continued their unstoppable rampage in the Castle Super League, securing a dominant 40-24 victory over Louis Trichardt on Saturday, 1 March 2025.

Though the match remained tight at halftime, with the Rhinos leading 19-12, they exploded in the second half, outpacing and outplaying their opponents. Their high-powered backline put on a show, running in six tries, four of which came from the speedsters at the back. Khwezi Mkhafu continued his stellar form, adding to his try tally in emphatic style. Super-sub J. Uithaler also powered over the line, while centres Mira Bovu and Mitchelle van der Merwe, winger Aphelele Bangani, and fullback PJ Bezuidenhout all left their mark on the scoreboard. Flyhalf Jade Stoffels had a golden boot on the day, slotting five out of six conversions.

Now, all eyes turn to their next challenge — a high-stakes clash against Brakpan Rugby Club on Saturday, 8 March 2025. With a semifinal spot on the line, assistant coach Flip de Kock is confident the Rhinos will rise to the occasion. “This match is the last in the group phase, so if we win, we go through to the semi-finals,” said de Kock.
