MOB JUSTICE CLAIMS TWO LIVES

Thabazimbi – Limpopo’s provincial police commissioner, lieutenant general Thembi Hadebe, has condemned an incident of mob justice that left two men dead in the Apiesdoring informal settlement on Thursday, 17 April 2025. Police were called to the scene at around 14:10, where they discovered a man lying in the street with multiple open wounds. He was declared dead on arrival by emergency medical services. While still on the scene, police received reports that community members were chasing and assaulting another man — allegedly responsible for the initial stabbing. Officers responded swiftly and managed to rescue the second man, who was transported to hospital. However, he later succumbed to his injuries. Colonel Malesela Ledwaba confirmed that the motive behind the stabbing and subsequent mob assault is still under investigation. Lieutenant general Hadebe strongly condemned the actions of the community.
