TLM Speaker backs clean, green Northam

Northam – In a bid to bolster environmental management and transparency, the Speaker of Thabazimbi Local Municipality (TLM), Cllr Dingaan Joshua Sebata, conducted an oversight visit to the Northam landfill site on Tuesday, 15 April 2025.

The visit formed part of TLM’s commitment to improving service delivery and ensuring that public facilities comply with environmental standards. Cllr Sebata engaged with staff on-site, inspecting maintenance operations and holding discussions around sustainable waste management practices.

“This landfill must not only function efficiently but reflect the community’s broader commitment to a cleaner, healthier environment,” said Cllr Sebata. “As leaders, we must be actively involved in ensuring accountability and responsible environmental stewardship.”

He stressed the municipality’s ongoing efforts to boost recycling, waste separation, and community education initiatives.
