Flipped but Fortunate

Thabazimbi – A single-vehicle accident took place on Sunday morning, 4 May 2025, around 09h00 on the R510 near Ben Alberts. A Volkswagen overturned, landing on its roof. Miraculously, all five occupants sustained only minor injuries.

The cause of the accident remains unknown at this stage. However, emergency teams responded swiftly to the scene. 

Thaba Fire and Rescue, Thabazimbi Local Municipality officials, Trauma Rescue, the South African Police Service, and PK Towing were all present, ensuring the safety and support of those involved.

“We’re grateful there were no serious injuries. This could have ended very differently,” said Angelique Loots, director of Thaba Fire and Rescue.
