BURN SMART: 2025 BLOCKBURN APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN

Thabazimbi – The Thabazimbi Fire Protection Association (TFPA) would like to notify farmers and landowners that the updated 2025 Blockburn Application Forms have been officially released by the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.

This process is handled by the Thabazimbi Fire Protection Association (TFPA), and all farmers are urged to take note of the following important updates:

• If you submitted your 2025 application before 1 April 2025 using the 2024 forms, you do not need to reapply.
• If you submitted your application after 1 April 2025 using outdated (2024) forms, you are required to submit your application again using the correct 2025 forms.
• A fee of R500.00 now applies to all applications submitted from 1 April 2025 onward.
• Applications submitted before 1 April 2025 remain free of charge.
• The final date for submissions is 30 June 2025 — no late applications will be accepted.
• Members who received permits last year but did not complete their burns must reapply for the 2025 season.
