Rhinos storm into the final!

Setaria – The Northam Platinum Rhinos Rugby Club proved their might with an action-packed weekend of victories, bringing pride to their home turf and thrilling fans across the region.

On Friday, 25 July 2025, the Rhinos locked horns with Nylstroom at Bosveld Park in the Waterberg League semi-final, coming out on top with a thrilling 27–22 win. The clash was fierce, but the Rhinos held their ground and secured a place in the final.

Their momentum didn’t stop there. The very next day, Saturday, 26 July, all three senior teams travelled to Polokwane to face the Noordelike Rugby Club in the North Region League. The first team dominated with a 71–0 victory, but the match called early due to lightning in the second half. The second team followed suit, shutting out their opponents 69–0. Unfortunately, the third team narrowly missed a win, losing by just two points with a final score of 24–26.

“We’re incredibly proud of the team’s performance and resilience across all divisions,” said assistant coach Flip de Kock. “Now all eyes are on the Waterberg League Final, which kicks off Friday, 1 August at Loskop’s field.”
