Three lions and a tiger killed

Vaalwater – Poachers killed three lions and a tiger, in their enclosures, by throwing them meat laced with a poisonous substance in the early hours of Friday, 22 May at about 02h00, in the Vaalwater area outside Lephalale.

The owner of the farm was woken up by his dogs barking and went outside to investigate.

He discovered that some of the cages were open and came across one of his lions, battling to breath. Two other lions and one of his tigers were already dead.

The Police discovered the meat and investigations continue.
