What are your roles and responsibilities?

Thabazimbi – Senior managers and councillors of the Thabazimbi Local Municipality (TLM) attended a roles and responsibilities workshop, presented by the South African Local Government Association (SALGA) between 7-8 June.

The purpose of the two-day workshop was to more clearly define each political office bearer’s roles and responsibilities.

The workshop also focused on the interaction between the following local role-players: the municipal council, executive committee, the mayor, ward committees, section 79 committee, section 80 committee, the speaker, the chief whip, non-executive councillors or public relations councillors, and the municipal manager.
