Hijacked baby thrown from moving car

Northam – Three suspects who hijacked a woman with her baby in the car, were beaten to a pulp after being caught by taxi drivers whilst trying to escape in Northam on Wednesday 27 June, said lieutenant colonel Jeoffrey Ramatsitsi, Northam station commander.

The three are under police guard in hospital where they are recuperating from injuries when the community took the law into their own hands.

The woman was hijacked outside the Northam Pick n Pay by the three suspects. When they realised that there was a three-month-old baby in the car, the suspects allegedly threw the baby out of the moving vehicle. At the time of going to print, it was established that the baby was still in the hospital.  

However, they couldn’t get too far as taxi drivers who had witnessed the hijacking gave chase. The vehicle lost control and crashed. All three suspects were caught and brought back to the scene of their crime. They were met by an angry community.
